Appalachian BackCountry Expeditions provides shuttle services and transportation for every adventure whether or not you choose to depart from our base camp. However, you won't want to miss the opportunity to see the spectacular New River from our camping area in the gorge below spectacular Sandstone Falls.

From I-64 at Hinton (exit 139), follow W.Va. 20 south to Hinton, cross the bridge over the New River, turn right onto River Road at the far end of the bridge. Follow the National Park Service signs to Sandstone Falls, and proceed two miles farther to our base camp.

From I-77 at Athens (exit 60), follow W.Va. 20 north to Hinton, and turn left onto River Road just before crossing the bridge into Hinton's National Historic District. After turning, follow the National Park Service signs to Sandstone Falls, and proceed two miles farther to our base camp.
